![]() ![]() Basically, unless you have some kind HPC workload IMO, if you have an emphasis on strong 3D accel / visuals performance on a Windows host, VMWare is what you need atm. If its important to you, you cant go wrong with VMWare. Remember Virtual Machine means it's Virtual so it's not really installed on your computer so your not using the true software or Operating System itself, your merely testing it. Qemu/KVM will provide decent/usable 3D performance on Windows hosts but VMWare is miles ahead. And, all this is free, even the Enterprise release. I don't recommend it as a replacement for other software or Operating Systems. Oracle has been kind enough to support VirtualBox, and provide a wide selection of pre-built developer VMs to download and use at no cost. The only other true downside to VMWare Player is it can cause your internet connection to become unstable.I recommend only installig VMWare Player for testing new things out. A Commercial License can be applied to enable Workstation Player to run Restricted Virtual Machines created by VMware Workstation Pro and Fusion Pro. VMware Workstation Player is a streamlined desktop virtualization application that runs one or more operating systems on the same computer without rebooting. ![]() This is especially useful for testing software or operating systems before committing to using them. The only downsides to VMWare Player is the fact there are as many different virtual machines as you would like. VMware Workstation Player (formerly known as Player Pro) is a desktop hypervisor application that delivers local virtualization features and is available for free for personal use. You can log in, and do everything like you would if you had Ubuntu itself installed on your computer. Browse to the location of the FortiManager-VM64.vmx file, select. For instance you can use Ubuntu inside VMWare player. To deploy and configure the VM: Launch the VMware Player, then select Open a Virtual Machine. It allows you to install different virtual machines onto you computer without installing the software itself. If your someone who likes to try things before committing to installing them than VMWare p layer is for you. Allows You To Use Other Operating Systems In Windows. ![]()
